Susan Jane Gilman's next book, a Diary of a SmartMouth
Goddess, is slated to be published by Warner Books
in 2004. Its "fabulous nonfiction tales"
humorously chronicle childhood dreams, coming
of age, and a single girl's adventures beyond
the trials and tribulations of hunting for a man.
The stories -- which range from being forced to
study Transcendental Meditation as a kid...to
following the Rolling Stones around during puberty...to
attending an S&M conference at a Howard Johnson's
Motor Inn Lodge, show there's far more to laugh
about in our lives than bad dates.
SWISS
MS.:
For the next year or so, the SmartMouth Goddess
will be at work on this next book in the decidely
neutral and un-smartmouthy country of Switzerland
(it's a long story...but funny in itself, no?)
If she can pull herself away from the chocolate
long enough, the "Swiss Ms." will file occasional
updates from somewhere in the Alps...

ASIA:
"Kiss My Tiara" has been sold to publishers in
both Japan and Korea. Foreign versions should
see print sometime in 2003. Should be interesting
to see how words like "pootie" translate...

SUPPLEMENT:
Closer to home, Susan Jane Gilman and "Kiss My
Tiara" get mentioned in the June 2002 issue of
Cosmopolitan magazine in an article about
cultivating one's inner goddess. Funny, because
"Kiss My Tiara" actually suggests "girlcotting"
women's magazines...Ah, well, it's an interesting
and contradictory world!
